Fancy Lady Cowgirl Event ~ Fort Worth

Inaugural “Fancy Lady Cowgirl” Event to Be Hosted May 1st at The Hotel Drover at the Stockyards in Fort Worth.

Fancy Lady Cowgirl founder Courtenay DeHoff and Sarah J. Bohnenkamp to co-host live event focused on building bravery and community.

Fort Worth, Texas (February 22, 2021) – Western leaders Courtenay DeHoff and Sarah J. Bohnenkamp will host the inaugural Fancy Lady Cowgirl Experience on May 1, 2021 at the brand-new Hotel Drover, on the famous Mule Alley of the Stockyards.

The event will bring together women who are storytellers, entrepreneurs, organizational leaders, Western historians, agriculturalists, and Fancy Lady Cowgirls of all kinds for networking, hands-on brand-building and leadership “mini workshops”, and opportunities to learn and serve.

DeHoff was spurred to plan a live, spring event in her home state because of the huge outpouring of support the growing Fancy Lady Cowgirl movement received during the National Finals Rodeo. “I had countless women seek out the Fancy Lady Cowgirl booth during the ten days of the NFR simply to say hello and share a piece of their story. It was the first time Fancy Lady Cowgirls from all over the country had the opportunity to meet in person and I knew we needed to give these women an event all their own. My hope is that this event experience will provide a supportive community built on core FLC goals such as integrity, humility and morality.”

Event co-host Bohnenkamp, a Colorado-based leadership coach said “Partnering with Courtenay was a big “YES” for me because of who she is and what the Fancy Lady Cowgirl movement represents. People are at the core of everything, and this event will help us connect women from all types of backgrounds, celebrate our love for the Western way of life, and build strength and confidence to blaze epic trails.”

A variety of speakers will be featured at the Fancy Lady Cowgirl event, including those deeply embedded in the world of agriculture, and those who are not closely tied.

“A Fancy Lady Cowgirl is not defined by where she lives or what she wears, rather it’s a state of mind. The event will feature multi-generation ranching cowgirls plus celebrity beauty gurus like Daniela Bell who don’t necessarily ranch, but uphold and celebrate the cowgirl mindset.”

Guests can expect to engage with Food Network star WayLynn Lucas, “Legacies” author Laura Nelson, Beef Boutique owner and California-based agriculture advocate Brooke Behlan, among others. Musical guest Jenna Paulette will also play during our Derby-inspired happy hour.

“Our event is May 1st, which is a Saturday, and the first Saturday in May is always special because it’s Kentucky Derby day. You can bet we’re weaving in themes of this iconic horse race and it’s rich traditions as we plan, fancy hats and all.” Bohnenkamp added.

"This event is truly the first of its kind and I'm incredibly excited to be a part of and share what "Fancy Lady Cowgirl" embodies. It’s not just a title or way of living, it's an entire mindset and a community of badass women who refuse to limit themselves to being "just one thing".” Kelly Altschwager, Western Workouts, event speaker.
